The Schooner Restaurant - Freeport, Long Island
Two of us had a Sunday evening meal there after scouting the length of The Nautical Mile and being disappointed by the noise & uncomfortable dining atmosphere of several of the similarly priced "joints" on that stretch.
We were so glad we settled on The Schooner. It had a accommodating staff, rich and quiet dining atmosphere, a nicely varied menu for the seafood lover, and Jacqueline, our waitress extraordinaire.
We were pampered and well fed by our shared choice of the zuppa di pesce and a vegetable side. And Jackie was quick to assist my buddy to choose an appropriate special cocktail to precede our meal.
Long ago I heard someone say that a restaurant experience isn't just about the chef's skills or the room's ambiance, or the efficient service, but about the whole feeling of enjoyment of the dining experience.
I'd repeat this experience in a flash.
The Schooner is one of may favorite Nautical Mile restaurants too. Good food, service and atmosphere. You can't go wrong here. -Bill
