I was born and raised in Bay Shore and I miss MY bay. I miss Sag Harbor, where my Dad’s family entered the US in the late 1890’s and where I still have relatives.
I miss every inch of Long Island’s South Shore that I explored as a kid, town by town. I jumped for joy when I recognized Islip Town Dock in your ice breaking video
My Dad built and lived on a 24' houseboat and kept it tied up at that dock until he took it down the bays to Sag Harbor, where he lived on it until he died.
I followed him in my boat, an old 31' Wheeler, to make sure he wouldn’t get into any trouble. So, I’m the one that went aground in Moriches Bay and he pulled ME off!
I saw your site and memories just kept flooding back. I want to thank you for that.
